Growing up, I remember how I religiously watched “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” Every Sunday at 8 P.M. with my siblings. I enjoyed being in the presence of my brothers and watching the show. It was difficult for me to watch any Filipino show because of how picky I was as a child. I barely know anyone from the Filipino entertainment industry that I can’t even name a few personalities. Even now, when someone asks me who my favorite personality is in that industry, I struggle to remember names as I barely remember even their faces. There was only one exemption that could easily make my head turn to the television, and it was this show. I loved how clear and concise she delivered different stories and how exciting they were. Being a picky kid, I was difficult to please -and my parents could voucher for that. At my age now, I’m still amazed at how strong her show is going. When ABS-CBN was still up, I’m more likely to go to their channel, but whenever KMJS started, I automatically go to GMA.

I like Jessica Soho because of how she proved that women do have a place in a male-dominated industry. She is a resemblance of how powerful women are and that success has nothing to do with gender. In this day and age, the patriarchy's expectations are still being upheld by people who can’t seem to take a grasp around progressing from it. Women like Jessica Soho tend to break those stereotypes by showing how she is successful in her field. I continue to look up to her and her abilities to prove how women can stand on their own feet. She serves as an icon to my generation as well as the past generations. Although I do believe that there is no such thing as a perfect person let alone a journalist, If I am asked who is the closest to it, it must be Jessica Soho.
